Notes from June 18th

Matthew 4:35 - 41

35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Four Things I heard in this scripture: Lightning, Rain, Thunder, and Wind.

God said to his disciples in Matthew 4:35-41..."Have you still no faith."God said, are you lit up and on fire with His Word? Are you reigning or getting flooded/rained on due to a lack of faith?

Can you hear His thunderous voice in the midst of the storm or are you waiting for the visual or physical evidence?

Are you soaring like eagles with His wind underneath or are you struggling like chickens?

Let's Exercise

This week we want our e-family to exercise their faith muscles both physically and spiritually. Do 5 pushups today. Tomorrow, add 1 extra. Each day add an extra one until Friday. Don't question it or think about it. Just join in on the movement and this fun exercise!

After doing your daily set of pushups, thank God for strengthening your muscles and your Faith in Him at the same time.

You will experience four things from this exercise:

  1. How to get closer to God by getting on your knees

  2. How to increase your strength to do His Will

  3. How to focus on the goal and not the old

  • The old is the negative, discouraging, doubting thoughts you've had in the past

  1. How a little bit more every day adds up to a lot more!

  • 5 pushups a day, then 6, then 7, may not seem like a lot. But it adds up to 35! That's more pushups than you may have done all year.
